Local Duluthian, Janna Radtke, accomplished her first ever Triathlon last year in the 23rd Annual Brewhouse Triathlon, held at the Pike Lake AAA Beach Club. Even though it was her first attempt at a triathlon Janna opted for the long course because she knew it would be even more of an accomplishment and she was up for the challenge.
Janna will be once again competing this year in the 24th Annual Brewhouse Triathlon held Sunday, August 01, 2010 at Pike Lake AAA Beach Club.

Location
Brewhouse Triathlon’s headquarters are at the Pike Lake at the AAA Pike Lake Golf Club and beach, northwest of Duluth, MN. Take Hwy. 53 north 6 miles past Duluth. Turn right at Midway Rd., County 13. The Pike Lake AAA Club is 1 mi. down the road on the left.
From Minneapolis
Take I-35 to Midway exit, go north 10 miles & the club is on the left.
Course Description
All racers begin with a swim in Pike Lake. The bike is through a course of gently rolling hills, minimal traffic on black top surface. The long course will be 2 laps around the short course. Race finishes w/ an out & back run.
Short Course
1/3 mile swim – 10.3 mile bike – 2.5 mile run
Long Course
.8 mile swim – 20.6 mile bike – 5 mile run
Long Course Relay
Teams of 2 or 3.
Packet Pick-Up
Mandatory packet pick-up Saturday, July 31st at race venue (Pike Lake AAA Club) from 4-8:00 for Brewhouse Tri.
Race Day Schedule
Body marking 6:30-8:00 a.m.
Pre-race meeting 8:10 a.m. at swim start
Short course wave starts: 8:30 a.m.
Long course wave starts: 9:00 a.m.
9:50: swim closes
11:20: cutoff to go out on the run
12:15: estimated time of awards.
Wave Start
There will be wave starts based on age in each race. The First short course wave will leave at 8:30 a.m. Check at packet pickup to see when your specific wave time will be.
Awards
All participants will receive a T-shirt, free refreshments during & after the race, Brewhouse pint glass, & other freebies. Awards ceremony will be held at the AAA Club following the last finisher.

1st Place Male & Female (individual)
Hand-Crafted Awards
Individuals: 1st – 3rd Male/Female, all ages categories. Relays: 1st Male/Female/Co-ed/Silver 120 (cumulative age of team)/ and Youth (everyone 18 and under).
Race Gear/Rules
*Swimmers must wear swim caps (provided)
* Wet suits allowed
* Bikers must wear approved bike helmets (hockey, skate boarding or the like are not allowed)
* No drafting on bike course
* No music such as iPods allowed when racing.
* We adhere to all race regulations as set by USAT.
USAT Members
USAT members must verify membership at check-in by showing both their current USAT annual membership card and a photo ID. Members that do not show a current membership card and photo ID at check will be charged an additional $10 and will need to sign a waiver and show a picture ID.
Non USAT Members
This is a USAT sanctioned race. All participants 18 years or older must have a valid USAT membership or pay a one time event fee of $10.00 when registering online. Racers that fall under this category will need to bring a photo ID to packet pick-up and sign a waiver. All non USAT racers under the age of 18 MUST be annual USAT members at a cost of $5 per year and register at https://www.usatmembership.com/default.aspx before the race.
